Application and systems development

Web, mobile and backend AI-enabled application development.

We build customer-facing web and mobile apps, internal tooling and the systems and integrations that run behind them.

Outgrowing off-the-shelf software and disconnected systems?

When a business runs on workarounds, spreadsheets and tools that don’t talk to each other, the right app or system takes the strain, so your team stops working around its tools.

  • Off-the-shelf software no longer fits how your business works.
  • Customers or partners need a portal, not another email thread.
  • A spreadsheet or manual process has become the system the business runs on.
  • Your systems don’t talk to each other, so data is re-keyed by hand.
  • An existing platform is slow, fragile or too risky to change.
  • You want to add AI to a product or process, but your systems and data aren’t ready.

What we deliver.

Fixed scope, agreed in writing, and every system ships with documentation.

  • Product scoping and UX prototypes
  • Customer portals, web apps and marketplaces
  • iOS and Android apps
  • Internal tools and operating platforms
  • Backend services, APIs, databases and integrations
  • AI-enabled features, agents and automation built into your apps
  • Cloud hosting on AWS or Azure, architecture reviews and rebuilds

Expertly: Architecture redesign for a social commerce marketplace

Expertly is a social commerce marketplace partnering with L’Oréal. As the business grew, its original architecture was limiting what the team could build and how quickly. We led a full technology and architecture redesign, setting out a platform structure that could scale with new partners and products, and gave the team a clear technical direction to build on.

WeMena: A B2B e-commerce marketplace on Microsoft Azure

WeMena is a B2B e-commerce marketplace connecting buyers and suppliers. We built the web and mobile platform on Microsoft Azure and .NET Core, so buyers could order on any device from a single system. The architecture was designed to scale on Azure as the marketplace grew, and the business qualified for Microsoft for Startups and the Abu Dhabi Microsoft Reactor.

Carrier Bag Shop: A bespoke e-commerce platform rolled out across multiple territories

Carrier Bag Shop is a leading packaging provider. We designed and built a bespoke e-commerce platform on a .NET backend, with SEO at the centre of the build so the business could compete for search traffic in a crowded market. The platform was then rolled out across multiple territories, giving the business one system to run and grow each market from.

Questions we’re often asked.

Do you build native mobile apps?

Yes, for iOS and Android. We will advise whether a native, cross-platform or responsive web app is the better fit.

Who owns the code?

You do. Repositories, hosting and accounts sit in your name from day one.

Can you connect the systems we already use?

Yes. We build integrations between your existing tools through their APIs, and tidy the data so each fact lives in one place.

Can you take over an existing codebase?

Yes. We start with a technical review, then agree a plan to stabilise and extend it.

What technology do you build with?

We choose what fits the product and your team. Commonly that is Next.js, React, Node.js, TypeScript, .NET Core and Python, hosted on AWS or Azure.

How much does it cost?

Every project is scoped and priced before work starts, so you know the cost up front. As a guide only, web application development starts from £2,500, and the price varies with scope.

How long does a build take?

It depends on the scope. We build in small increments with a working release to a staging environment every week, so you can see progress early and decide what to build next.

Can we start with a smaller version first?

Yes. We agree the smallest version worth building, test it with real users, and add to it as the evidence comes in.

What happens after launch?

We go live with monitoring in place. After that we can keep supporting and extending the platform, or hand it over with documentation to your own team.
